About the Role:
Mayer Brown LLP is a leading international law firm seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our HR department as a Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager in our London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trainee Recruitment:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all queries related to graduate recruitment;
- Manage strategic aspects of employer branding, including reviewing promotional materials, organizing artwork, and maintaining the graduate recruitment website;
- Oversee the selection and offer processes for legal apprenticeships, trainee vacation schemes, and open days;
- Develop and implement the Training Contract Assessment Centers and provide advice on all aspects of the process;
- Plan and review work experience programs, including virtual and in-person vacation schemes, the work experience scheme, and interns;
- Develop, write, and present skills sessions;
- Collaborate with the DE&I Manager for Europe to enhance diversity programs and investigate ways to improve the graduate recruitment offering;
- Manage graduate recruitment diversity partnerships and events in collaboration with the DE&I team.
- Oversee the 6-monthly seat allocation process;
- Monitor trainee performance and proactively address any performance issues;
- Work with the Learning & Development team to plan and facilitate the trainee induction process;
- Organize and attend future trainee social events.
- Maintain the HR system (Peoplesoft) and ensure it is up-to-date;
- Stay informed about SRA regulations and developments governing trainee solicitors and propose changes to current HR policies and practices as necessary;
- Keep other members of the HR Department informed about developments in client groups.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a graduate recruitment function in a law firm, with a full understanding of trainee solicitor recruitment and development processes;
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities;
- Resilience and ability to deliver difficult messages and oversee employee relations issues;
- Creative thinking and willingness to share new ideas and approaches;
- Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels within the business.
