About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and Non-Verbal and Pre-Verbal and Communicational difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their emotional and physical needs, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, adapting to individual needs and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to education and care.
  • Undertake personal care duties, including administering medication and supporting with daily living tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized education plans, working closely with teachers and other professionals.
Requirements
  • GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of settings, including classrooms, outdoor spaces, and community settings.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (essential for some roles).
