About the Role

Ramsden Hall Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Night Awake Worker to join our residential team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our students during the night awake shift, which includes settling children who are still awake, reassuring and settling anyone who wakes, and completing light household duties. In the morning, you will be part of a team to interact with the children and help them with their morning routine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students during the night awake shift
  • Settle children who are still awake and reassure and settle anyone who wakes
  • Complete light household duties, such as washing and ironing, cleaning fridges, and tidying
  • Interact with children as part of a team and help them with their morning routine
  • Participate in the general supervision of students and ensure they adhere to acceptable standards of behaviour
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs
  • Ability to use MS Word and Excel and Email or willingness to learn
  • NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care, or equivalent, is strongly desirable
  • Driving licence qualifications to drive a D1 mini bus is desirable
  • Ability to work as part of a highly effective team
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed with energy, vigor, perseverance, and empathy
  • Ability to manage confidential data in a professional and sensitive way with an understanding of the Data Protection Act and GDPR
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances
  • Ability to learn school policies and procedures
  • Understand and implement the school's behaviour management policy
  • Understand the importance of physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to develop and learn in the role
