About the Role

Ramsden Hall Academy is a residential special school for boys aged 10 to 16 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for Social, Emotional and Mental Health. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Night Awake Worker to join our highly successful academy, which holds a Good Ofsted status. Our residential provision holds Outstanding Ofsted status.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for our students, ensuring their physical and emotional wellbeing. They will work closely with the school and residential team to provide a balanced 24-hour curriculum, meeting individual and group needs. The ideal candidate will be caring, nurturing, and fair, with a good sense of humour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students, ensuring their physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with the school and residential team to provide a balanced 24-hour curriculum, meeting individual and group needs.
  • Assist with the morning and evening routines, including helping students with their personal care and hygiene.
  • Participate in activities to learn new skills and develop confidence and self-regulation.
  • Support students with their emotional and social needs, providing a calm and relaxed group living experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people with SEMH.
  • Ability to use MS Word and Excel, and willingness to learn.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care, or equivalent, is strongly desirable.
  • Driving licence qualifications to drive a D1 mini bus is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a highly effective team, with enthusiasm, reliability, and commitment.
  • Ability to manage confidential data in a professional and sensitive way, with an understanding of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
