Job Summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Instrument Engineer to join our team. As an Instrument Engineer, you will provide critical support to our operations site-based team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement instrument and control system improvements to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for instrument and protective systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and own the asset's instrument and protective systems spares strategy.
  • Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown, including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
  • Monitor and advise on the technical and safety implications of any maintenance backlog.
  • Act as custodian of key instrument and protective systems engineering documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to asset turnaround activities.
  • Coach asset instrument technicians to ensure their competency and skills are continually improved.
  • Participate in incident management teams and provide technical support to offshore platforms or remote onshore sites.
  • Support planned and unplanned outages.
  • Participate in the asset self-audit program.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in Instrument Engineering or a related field.
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • Hold BOSIET, Medical, and MIST certifications for offshore travel.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas, refining, or chemical industries.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge and experience of instrument equipment, control systems, and ESD systems.
  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant UK regulatory requirements and industry standards.
