About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support to children and young people with long-term conditions, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver psychological support to children and young people within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) context.
  • Develop individual plans and resources, as well as provide training and advice on the psychological needs of children and young people with chronic symptoms.
  • Provide individual psychological interventions directly to children, young people, and families, as well as develop and facilitate group interventions.
Working with Our Team

You will be an important member of our new Paediatric Recovery From Illness MDT, which adopts a collaborative approach with colleagues from Paediatrics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Dietetics. This team works together to support children, young people, and families.

About Our Department

You will also be welcomed into our expanding and supportive Child Psychology department, which is part of Swansea Bay University Health Board. Our department is dedicated to working with babies, children, and families, and we are committed to providing high-quality psychological services.

Requirements
  • Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) or eligibility for membership.
  • Good psychology degree.
