Marine Inspection Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Objective
To serve as the primary inspection authority offshore, overseeing and managing all inspection operations. Conduct visual assessments of plant equipment as required, ensuring compliance with Oceaneering and Client standards, strategies, and applicable regulations.
Duties
· Assist the line manager in executing work scopes as outlined in the client agreement.
· Evaluate defects and anomalies following Oceaneering and/or client procedures.
· Report to the Offshore Installation Manager regarding the organization and execution of all inspection tasks.
· Collaborate with asset personnel to ensure all inspection activities, including equipment scheduling, planning, and availability, are effectively carried out.
· Perform all designated offshore inspections within the limits of the Oceaneering issued authority letter, ensuring timely implementation and completion.
· Conduct visual and NDT inspections as necessary.
· Provide corrective recommendations as needed and assess subsequent repair work for approval.
· Generate inspection reports within agreed timelines using approved templates and forms.
· Supervise Oceaneering personnel and third-party contractors while offshore, ensuring all parties comprehend the work scope, associated risks, and that tasks are completed and documented as specified.
· Review and, where applicable, endorse inspection reports prepared by NDT Technicians or third-party personnel.
· Issue status reports as required, including Daily, Handover, End of Trip, and Certificate of Examination.
· Participate in meetings and reviews as necessary, such as morning calls, planning sessions, and anomaly discussions.
· Maintain logs and update registers in accordance with Oceaneering and client protocols while offshore.
· Assist with tasks as directed by the Oceaneering onshore team or Client Integrity Engineer.
Qualifications
DESIRED
· HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline or ONC/NVQ Level 3 (such as City & Guilds).
· At least 10 years of experience in plant and equipment inspection.
· Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes/standards, materials, plant operations, and processes.
· ASME Plant Inspector Level 2 and/or API 510 & API 570 certifications.
· UKAS RG2 Category 3 Compatibility.
· IRATA Rope Access Level 3 and NDT Certifications in DPI, ECI, MPI, and UT 3.1 & 3.2.
