Job Title: Finance Manager - Capital Projects

Job Summary:

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team. As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the finances of the General Fund capital programme. This involves working closely with senior management and project managers to advise on strategic capital projects and manage a team of accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Contribute towards the development and implementation of the financial strategy, ensuring sustainability over the medium term.
  • Capital Programme Management: Manage the finances of the General Fund Capital Programme, including advising on strategic capital projects.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present complex and diverse informative reports to members and other senior stakeholders that inform service and corporate consequence action decision making.
  • Financial Planning: Support the longer-term council-wide financial position and develop financial strategies with stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and effectively motivate staff by providing coaching, mentoring, training, professional development opportunities, and appropriate performance management.
  • Financial Advisory: Advise Head of Finance and Senior Finance Managers on funding, financial management, and accounting requirements.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Qualifications: CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with extensive PQE.
  • Experience: Experienced with high-level business partnering in a Local Authority, contributing to an effective service.
  • Team Management: Experience of managing a finance team within a Local Authority.
  • Financial Skills: Excellent financial advisory and financial reporting skills.
  • Capital Experience: Capital experience is desirable but those that meet the other criteria with a motivation to learn the capital aspect will be considered.
  • Communication Skills: Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.
