Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Estates and Facilities Management team at a leading university. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining mechanical, air, and water systems, ensuring they meet current legislative standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform statutory inspections, testing, and reporting of plant and assets to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and plumbing installations.
- Collaborate with the Estates and Facilities Management team to identify and implement improvements to the university's mechanical systems.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the university's mechanical systems, including their operation, maintenance, and repair.
Requirements:
- Must hold a current full EU license or equivalent permanent license.
- Willingness to undertake training in other trade disciplines, including gas safety.
- City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ/technician qualification in mechanical services (heating, ventilation, plumbing installation and maintenance).
