About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Powertrain Design Lead to join our team at Alpine F1 Team. As a key member of our Engineering Office, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design and development of our Heat Rejection system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the design and development of the Heat Rejection system, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Collaborate with Chief Designers and Head of Section to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Detailed Design Specifications and Project Execution plans, ensuring seamless integration with other design sections and departments.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Approve the work of reports and ensure design sign-off process is followed.
  • Concept design and scheming components, detailing machined parts, patterns, moulds, and specifying laminates, extending to necessary component jigs and build tooling.
  • Cascade information to the team, owning the message and delivery.
  • Non-technical one-to-one's to develop all members of the team.
  • Set clear expectations and ensure they are reviewed.
  • Provide timely factual feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • A Mechanical Engineering Master's Degree or comparable qualification.
  • Experience in aerospace materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • An understanding of the implications of car performance when considering design criteria.
  • Ability to approach design tasks by application of engineering first principles.
