Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate in Bioinformatics to join our team at The University of Manchester. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and will be responsible for dealing with multi-omic data analysis and storage, focusing particularly on multi-omic data from paediatric brain tumour patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct low-level QC and mapping of multi-omic data
  • Perform statistical analysis and data visualization
  • Develop tools and workflows for data analysis
  • Contribute to writing up work for journal papers and presentations
  • Assist in training and education activities

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Familiarity with proteomics and/or genomics data analysis methods
  • Experience of programming in a language relevant to Bioinformatics (e.g. R, Python, C/C++ or Java)
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and good communication skills
  • Good recording and curation skills
