System Reliability Engineer

Directorate: Engineering

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our System Engineering Team within the Engineering directorate. As a System Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing the performance of our electrical power network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive delivery of engineering and environmental policy, standards, and improvement plans for a reliable and resilient network.
  • Support the development of our reliability strategies to facilitate both annual and regulatory business planning, incorporating stakeholder engagement.
  • Support delivery of the network performance improvement plan.
  • Support production of reliability plan information and delivery of our reliability-related regulatory returns.
  • Support production of annual and regulatory business planning documentation for reliability metrics.
  • Production of routine network analysis and performance reports.
  • Reliability policy development, including time-expired reviews/updates and new policies as required.
  • Technical consultancy/advisory on network reliability for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data analysis: Techniques that include statistical process control, reliability modeling, and prediction, fault tree analysis.
  • Analysis and Decision Making: Makes good decisions based on sound analysis despite incomplete or conflicting data.
Requirements:
  • Level 4 qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of the components that impact industry-recognized electricity network reliability metrics.
  • Understanding of the electricity network assets and how they are managed through their lifecycle.
  • Level 5 or 6 qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of utility regulation and the complexities of regulatory datasets.
  • Network operations: Track record of supporting electricity network reliability policy and plans in a regulatory environment.

We offer a competitive salary of between £51,761 - £70,784, as well as great benefits, including enrolment into our pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and agile working.
