Clinical Specialist Paediatric Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

We are seeking an experienced physiotherapist to join our Children's Physiotherapy team as a Clinical Specialist Paediatric Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people and a strong background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
About the RoleThis is a skilled post where the postholder will utilise specialist clinical knowledge to assess and treat children and young people with musculoskeletal complaints. The postholder will work closely alongside our other Clinical Specialists in physiotherapy and occupational therapy, including early years, mainstream and special schools, respiratory, Advanced practice, upper limb and splinting.
Main Duties- To input into the co-ordination of the paediatric musculoskeletal service, supporting the work of colleagues to provide a paediatric musculoskeletal service to children with a Coventry GP.
- To have specialist knowledge and expertise in the care and management of children with musculoskeletal ailments.
- To carry out specialist clinical assessment and management of children and young people's needs and to plan and implement packages of care accordingly.
- To support the child, family and/or carers holistically, in response to their specific needs, maximising their independence and quality of life.
- To support the wider children's physiotherapy team and to be responsible for clinical supervision and mentorship of identified staff within the musculoskeletal aspect of the physiotherapy team.

Person SpecificationEssential
- Recognised Physiotherapy therapy degree or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
- Post graduate training in Paediatric physiotherapy.
Knowledge and skills
- Must be able to demonstrate sound personal management skills - time management, prioritising, planning.
- Must be able to supervise, mentor and assess competence of qualified staff, unqualified staff and students.
- Must have good working knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Experience
- Be able to demonstrate significant experience in working with children and young people with musculoskeletal difficulties.
- Evidence of continued professional development in the area of clinical specialism.
- Ability to work as part of a Team.
