Job Summary:

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in delivering high-quality care and support to vulnerable young people in our children's homes. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and development of our young residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and care to young people, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of personalized care plans, ensuring that the needs of each young person are met.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed care, attachment, and child development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach to supporting young people.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a care or social work setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers, as required.
  • Commitment to the values and principles of Barnardo's, including a focus on child-centered care and a trauma-informed approach.
