Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Main contractor working on a large water-related Capital Delivery contract in the Swindon area.

The company is a reputable Main contractor operating nationwide throughout the UK, with multiple Regional offices. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be an experienced surveyor working on complex packages on a major project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effective procurement and management of subcontractors, from agreement of terms and conditions, risk attribution, and scope through to Final Account.
  • Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
  • Collaborating closely with operational teams.
  • Administering the bespoke Principal Contract containing elements of the NEC and I Chem E Burgundy Book.
  • Managing Change through the Early Warning and Variation Process with both the Client and subcontractors.
  • Value and Margin Maximisation.
  • Producing or supporting the production of CVRs, applications for payment, and costs Forecasts.
  • Closely monitoring staff, material, plant, and other resources on site.
  • Identifying opportunities and challenging practices, planning, and approaches where cost savings are recognized.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience working on Civils projects.
  • Pumping stations, sewage works, and Water experience would be advantageous.
  • Contractor experience.
