Job Title: Head of Nursing for Patient Flow and Integrated Discharge

We are seeking an experienced and skilled nurse leader to join our team as Head of Nursing for Patient Flow and Integrated Discharge at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of patient flow on the Worthing site, ensuring our patients receive safe, high-quality, and coordinated care. This will involve working closely with the Hospital Director of Nursing and the Hospital Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow and discharge processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of patient flow and discharge strategies to improve patient care and experience.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow and discharge processes.
  • Work closely with Integrated Care System partners to ensure safe and timely patient discharge.
  • Deputise for the Hospital Director of Nursing as required.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse or Allied Healthcare Professional with a Master's level education or equivalent experience.
  • Substantial relevant post-registration experience at a senior level, preferably in an Acute NHS Trust.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with senior colleagues across a multi-disciplinary team and across organisational boundaries.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development and a commitment to improving patient care and experience.
