Role Overview:

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the CTO of the Distributed Compute Product Management team, offering your extensive expertise in guiding the technical direction of x86 server hardware.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with vendors for service escalation and maintaining ongoing relationships.
  • Understanding and advising on available x86 hardware bundles and the firmware/microcode release cycle.
  • Acting as a vital technical liaison between business units, architecture, engineering teams, and vendors.
  • Providing insights on architectural, operational, security, and various technical challenges.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of x86 Server Hardware and components, particularly from Dell, Lenovo, and HPE, with experience in managing large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical proficiency in remote server management tools such as iDRAC, XCC, and iLO.
  • Experience in certifying Windows, RedHat, and ESXi operating systems on x86 server hardware.
  • Strong background in Security and Compliance within a large financial organization.
  • Understanding of service integration in data-driven environments utilizing APIs.
  • Innovative mindset towards deployment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile practices and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams and third-party vendors.
  • Proven experience in managing enterprise-scale estates.
  • Strong skills in active listening, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Passion for technology and resolving IT operations challenges.
  • Expertise in Compute, Hypervisors, Storage, and Networks.
  • Current knowledge of tools and technologies, particularly in cyber security and regulations related to data privacy and residency.
  • Engagement with industry groups and vendors to enhance the company’s influence.
  • Encouragement of innovation and adoption of advanced technologies and practices.
  • Consultation in other areas as needed to provide diverse perspectives on projects.
