Compliance Counsel Job Description

Our UK Legal team is seeking a Compliance Counsel to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The role reports into the General Counsel & Compliance Officer and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Volkswagen Group UK compliance management system.

The Compliance Counsel will provide timely and commercially relevant legal advice on compliance requirements and activities in the UK, escalating and reporting any compliance issues to the General Counsel and board of management.

As part of a proactive Legal & Compliance function, the Compliance Counsel will play a key role in influencing compliance policies within our global Group landscape and collaborate with international colleagues to deliver best practices.

The Compliance Counsel will lead the annual assessment of the UK business' key compliance risks and devise a programme of focus for each year. They will also design and manage compliance awareness training to educate the business on important topics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining compliance programmes
  • Developing effective policies, procedures, training, and guidelines
  • Leading the annual assessment of key compliance risks and devising a programme of focus
  • Designing and managing compliance awareness training
