We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Sellafield Ltd. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and correct processing of procurement requests for our business area.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain awareness of the correct routes of procurement for the supply of goods and services and advise where applicable.
- Ensure that all new demand requests are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner and tracked through to completion.
- Ensure that all demand requests comply with SL procurement processes and procedures, and challenge where necessary any non-compliance.
- Ensure the correct input of data into procurement systems to enable a 'right first time' approach to procurement avoiding any unnecessary delivery delays to the procurement of goods / services.
- Ensure any items over a set approval threshold are approved by the appropriate nominated person.
- Assist customers in establishing whether required components are already available to avoid duplication.
- Expedite high priority spares / components to ensure timely delivery from the supply chain including managing the resolution of invoice queries as and when they arise to avoid any potential delivery or payment delays.
- Complete the return of goods process with warehousing & suppliers as required.
- Undertake Contract Administrator role for various sitewide frameworks incl. managing journals.
- Assist with the training and development of new / junior members of the team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and challenge individuals proposed decision making using technical knowledge.
- Ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload to meet business needs.
- Team player who can work flexibly as part of an enterprise-wide support function.
- Meticulous attention to detail in relation to data standards and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of standard company IT systems and applications.
- Experience of working in a high-pressured environment with the requirement to meet tight deadlines.
- Evidence of building and maintaining effective working relationships, at all levels of an organisation in order to deliver a support service, exchange information, provide advice, and manage query and problem resolution.
- Questioning and analytical mind set with respect to gathering and using data.
