Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Behavioural Support Specialists to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with complex needs in an alternative provision setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Teaching Specialists: Collaborate with teaching specialists to deliver high-quality education and support students in achieving their academic goals.
- Provide Care and Support: Offer care and support to enable students to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Implement Behavioural Coping Mechanisms: Help students develop effective behavioural coping mechanisms to manage their emotions and behaviours.
- Assist with Academic Support: Provide academic support to individuals or groups, helping students to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate Off-Site Learning Experiences: Organize and facilitate off-site learning experiences to enhance students' learning and development.
Requirements:
- Experience Working with Young People: Proven experience working with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Resilience and Patience: The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations, with a strong commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
- Qualifications and Training: Relevant qualifications and training, such as a teaching assistant qualification or a degree in a related field.
