Job Title: Apprentice Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Innovate Recruitment Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance of warehouse systems, supporting the technical department with planning, instruction, and supervision, and using the Agility maintenance system to record activities and suggest improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive and reactive maintenance of warehouse systems, including troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Support the technical department with planning, instruction, and supervision of maintenance activities.
  • Use the Agility maintenance system to record activities, suggest improvements, and track maintenance schedules.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and place orders as needed to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate complex repairs and overhauls, scheduling mechanics and operators, tracking disruptions, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure timely actions and minimize disruptions.
  • Occasionally work at heights and in cold environments (-18°C), requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar industry, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in mechanical and electrical fields, demonstrating a solid foundation in technical skills.
  • Experience with PLC and PC-controlled automated systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn, work in cold conditions, and drive to the site, with a flexible attitude and adaptability.
