Transformer Testing Department Head

Job Overview:
The Transformer Testing Department Head will be responsible for leading and managing the transformer testing department at CEAT. This role will oversee the testing process of transformers as per required standards, ensuring compliance with industrial safety and regulation standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing a team of engineers and technicians, coordinating testing activities, and providing technical expertise to support the organization's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technicians. Assign responsibilities, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Department Leadership: Develop departmental goals, objectives, and action plans. Plan for internal NABL audits, coordinate with QCIN of NABL Portal, and control documents of internal and external origin.
- Technical Management: Oversee the testing process, ensure compliance with standards, and manage the department's budget. Allocate resources efficiently to meet testing demands and deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Address and resolve any quality issues that may arise during testing processes.
- Customer Complaint Management: Investigate and analyze customer complaints and field return failures. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Qualification:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience (typically 10 years) in transformer testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and standards. Previous leadership experience, including team management, is also required. In-depth knowledge of electrical transformer construction and testing processes is essential. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (IEEE, IEC, NEMA) is also necessary. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills, are required for this role.
