Mechanical Engineering Specialist for AIT

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to provide critical support in the Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) of satellite systems. This role involves the development of processes, plans, and procedures within a 3D Experience environment to facilitate the production of satellites and their payloads. The engineer will play a vital role in hardware assembly, including components such as black boxes, solar arrays, and structural panels, as well as supporting environmental testing at designated facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Project Preparation Phase
* Assist in the customization phase from project initiation.
* Participate in Digital Mock-Up (DMU) sessions to ensure optimal design for manufacturing.
* Contribute to the creation of essential documentation for production phases, including inputs for ACS, work instructions, and procedural guidelines.
  • Lead the installation of satellite appendages and manage relevant integration workflows.
  • Assist in defining Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) for satellite operations and support procurement efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Process Owner team across all facets of their responsibilities.

Operational Project Phase
* Provide support to the AIT Lead Engineering team during peak workload periods.
  • Assist process owners with issue resolution and operational tasks.
  • Oversee installation activities for satellite units.
  • Participate in quality reviews, conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Help develop rework instructions based on project specifications and identify necessary parts and tools for execution.
