Michael Page Procurement & Supply Chain is seeking a highly skilled Commodity Manager to join their team. As a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for managing a c. £40m+ spend across a variety of ingredients categories, leading a team of 2, and driving business growth through effective procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, input, and recommend a Commodity Risk Management (CRM) plan for your categories to minimize risk and optimize opportunities.
- Own the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage suppliers and ensure 100% On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery using appropriate tools within the business.
- Review and draft supplier contracts to provide beneficial terms that benefit the business.
- Draft and execute Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ), finalize recommendations for sign-offs before implementation.
- Source new suppliers, de-list non-performing suppliers, and provide a clear plan for your suppliers using the vendor management process.
- Contribute to the annual budget process, identifying risk and opportunities, and take action to minimize risk and optimize opportunities.
- Lead and develop 2 direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements:
- FMCG manufacturing experience, preferably in the food industry.
- Global sourcing experience, including commodity-driven markets.
- Proven leadership and talent development skills.
- The ability to challenge suppliers constructively to ensure cost savings while building long-term relationships.
- Strong experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), including proficiency in Excel.
- A confident communicator with the ability to hit the ground running.
