BEAR Scotland is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving over 1900km of Scottish trunk road, including bridges and structures.

Role Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our expanding Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) team. As a VRS Installation Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Scotland's roads by carrying out repairs to damaged systems and installing new upgraded VRS Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs to damaged VRS systems
  • Install new and upgraded VRS systems
  • Participate in erecting and removing crash barriers
  • Fix road furniture
  • Operate power tools and machinery
  • Contribute to standby and winter maintenance rotas, including fitting gritter bodies, driving gritters, and spreading salt
Requirements
  • Clean LGV2 driving licence
  • Flexibility for shift work
  • Experience with small plant machinery
  • Commitment to achieving competence in current job aspects and striving for professional development
