Job Title: Building Control Compliance Inspector

Our client, a leading provider of building and refurbishment services, is seeking a highly skilled Building Control Compliance Inspector to join their team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building safety regulations and standards during the design and construction phases of projects. This will involve working closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to address any building regulation and/or safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess lead designer competence to carry out the Building Safety Act PD role.
  • Manage the lead designer and design team to ensure duties as Building Safety Act PD are fulfilled.
  • Ensure compliance with building safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to address any building regulation and/or safety concerns.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during the construction phase.
  • Keep detailed records of all design and construction activities.
  • Communicate with client/building owner, designers, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A detailed understanding of the design process in relation to construction projects.
  • Understanding of the Building Regulations and their application to design and building work.
  • Experience working with a project team and managing cooperation among various parties.
  • Understanding of the Principal Contractors' duties to plan, manage, and monitor building work.
  • The right behaviours to drive cooperation throughout the project team.
