Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our maintenance and facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the electrical safety and reliability of our equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with current National Electrical Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Control Panel Design and Build: Oversee the design and build of electrical control panels, including documentation of all drawings and technical data.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair control panels and electrical infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Trend BMS System Management: Assist with building and managing the sitewide Trend BMS system, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.
  • Equipment Upgrade and Maintenance: Proactively upgrade equipment and plan for downtime across sites, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements, including BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Requirements
  • Electrical Installation Apprenticeship: Hold an electrical installation apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations: Be familiar with BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Industrial Experience: Have strong experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on electrical controls and systems.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures: Be familiar with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and electrical safety protocols.

  • PLC Systems Knowledge: Have good knowledge of PLC systems within an industrial environment.
  • Machinery Safety Legislation: Be familiar with Machinery Safety Legislation, including PUWER.
  • Confined Space Training: Hold confined space training and HV Substation Awareness training.
  • Computer Skills: Possess strong computer skills, including experience with Maximo CMMS.
