Police Staff Investigator PIP2 Specialist

Adecco is pleased to be recruiting for a Police Staff Investigator (PIP 2) to join Devon & Cornwall Police in North Devon - Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe areas.
Job Summary:This role involves investigating serious and complex crimes, dealing with victims, offenders, and witnesses for Level 1 and Level 2 crimes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, including domestic abuse, child abuse, vulnerable adult, missing, acquisitive crime, serious offences, enabled cyber, and dependent cyber cases.
Key Responsibilities:- Safeguard and protect vulnerable people, investigate and detect NIM Level 1 and Level 2 crime, and bring offenders to justice.
- Investigate PIP Level 1 and Level 2 crimes, managing victims, interviewing offenders, and conducting thorough investigations.
- Complete appropriate risk assessments for victims and offenders, identifying vulnerability and implementing suitable measures to negate risks.
- Work alongside partner agencies to manage risks, working with the victim care unit to support victims.
- Disclose material in accordance with the Criminal Procedures and Investigation Act 1996, maintaining ownership of the investigation post-charge.
- Handle intelligence submitting via the Force systems, acting on intelligence when required, and ensuring intelligence pictures are built to identify prolific offenders and potential targets.
- Support and utilise the National Intelligence Mode (NIM) throughout investigations to ensure that prolific and priority offenders are identified and managed.
- Attend and manage crime scenes, including rape, serious assault, suicide, sexual offences, search, and seize exhibits.
- Deal with disturbing material, including viewing, listening to interviews, and reading material with distressing content.
- Work with neighbourhood teams to identify and reduce risk, harm, and vulnerability, and problem-solve.
- PIP Level 2 Accreditation (PIP Level 2 Investigator, Supervisor, or Manager) or equivalent qualifications, skills, or experience.
- Full UK driving license, unless prevented by reason of disability.
- Demonstrate potential to undertake more complex aspects of the investigative process to meet PIP Level 2 standard.
- A detailed understanding of the criminal justice system.
- A meticulous and thorough approach to undertaking tasks.
- Proven ability to deliver to tight timescales.
- Proven experience of interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses.
- Due to Police Criteria, you must have lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years.
