Objective:

  • To deliver exceptional standards of cleanliness within the manufacturing environment, adhering to established protocols and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and meet both internal and external customer expectations.
  • To comprehend the significance of sanitation in relation to food safety, focusing on microbiological, allergen, and foreign body concerns.
  • To manage waste effectively by implementing segregation practices and minimizing food debris in drainage systems, ensuring compliance with environmental policies.
  • To uphold the ongoing standards of the Health & Safety framework.
  • To provide support to associated facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To thoroughly clean food production equipment, machinery, utensils, and work areas to the specified standards using appropriate cleaning agents at the correct concentrations, following validated procedures.
  • To execute cleaning tasks in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ensuring adherence to color coding, allergen management, and area-specific policies.
  • To maintain accurate and timely hygiene records, ensuring legibility and completeness.
  • To deliver cleaning services to all production areas promptly, ensuring equipment is ready for use to minimize downtime and assist with setup as necessary.
  • To segregate and dispose of waste according to the designated streams, preventing cross-contamination and minimizing debris in drainage systems in line with environmental policies.
  • To understand and implement listeria control measures in high-risk areas, adhering to hygiene and personnel protocols.
  • To perform environmental and allergen testing as required.
  • To report any identified equipment or health and safety concerns, including access issues and potential foreign body risks.
  • To follow all health and safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to site regulations to ensure personal and collective safety.
  • To document all incidents and near misses to the Team Manager and through the appropriate channels, supporting root cause analysis to enhance safety practices.
  • To conduct any necessary startup checks in designated areas and report defects to the Team Manager.
  • To collaborate proactively with the Team Manager and colleagues in exploring innovative solutions and providing recommendations for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and resource conservation.
  • To exhibit flexibility and the ability to rotate among various roles within the department as needed.
