About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team as a Business Partner, supporting our Head of People and Talent in delivering a high-performing HR function. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance and advice to Line Managers on all aspects of HR, including employee relations, performance management, retention, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a Clear People Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the business objectives and supports the achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Deliver Key Training Courses: Design and deliver training courses to support managers within the network, focusing on areas such as leadership development, communication, and performance management.
  • Identify and Lead on Training Needs: Identify specific training needs and develop solutions to address these, including coaching and training for Line Managers on HR-related operational matters.
  • Build Constructive Relationships: Foster strong relationships across the business, providing regular feedback to management teams and helping to create a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and Analyse Labour Turnover: Analyse labour turnover, exit interviews, new starter questionnaires, and absence stats to identify trends and issues, and propose solutions to improve figures and exceed targets.
Requirements
  • Level 5 CIPD Qualified: Hold a Level 5 CIPD qualification (MCIPD) and have a solid generalist HR background, with a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Commercial Outlook: Demonstrate a strong commercial outlook and continuous improvement philosophy, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Retail Background: Have a retail background or experience working in a similar industry, with a good understanding of 'best practice' HR principles and procedures.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible to support the operational demands of the role and demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability.
