The Opportunity:
TetraTech RPS Energy is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director Environmental Consultant - EIA - Offshore Wind to join our Marine Consenting team. This role will involve delivering client projects in the UK and internationally, primarily focusing on Offshore Wind, but also encompassing other offshore/coastal sectors we are involved in.
We operate a flexible working arrangement, allowing you to be based in Edinburgh, Woking, Chepstow, Aberdeen, or London, with the option for home working. We are at the forefront of the industry, delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments, including offshore wind farm developments. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality results, and we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment.
Your Role:
You will work on and manage a range of EIAs on large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Offshore Wind, Renewables, and Energy Transition, across the UK and Ireland. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordination and delivery of EIAs
- Marine consents management and compliance
- Technical review and delivery of reports
- Building relationships with statutory consultees and other groups/members of the public
- Helping to steer our clients' projects through the complexities of marine consenting and environmental assessment
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues to build up their skills
- Ensuring a safe working environment and reporting any health and safety incidents or concerns
Qualifications:
You will have a detailed knowledge of the EIA process on major energy infrastructure projects, ideally coupled with direct experience of the offshore renewables sector. Applicants with experience of working in other offshore industries (e.g., Oil & Gas) or onshore energy infrastructure projects are also welcome. We are looking for candidates with:
- A degree in a relevant environmental subject and potentially with an MSc in a relevant topic, e.g., Environmental Impact Assessment or similar
- Experience of working in a consultancy environment, including experience of managing EIA projects
- Experience of working as part of a team, including liaising with other technical specialists, e.g., marine processes, underwater noise
- Experience of working with environmental stakeholders, including regulators and nature conservation bodies
- The ability to communicate information to a range of audiences, through high-quality written work and oral presentations
