Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drama Department Lead to join our team at an impressive school in Harrow. As the Head of Drama, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the Drama department, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding Drama curriculum that aligns with the school's strategic objectives.
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity and develop their performance skills, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in Drama education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement engaging and innovative Drama lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Organize and direct school productions, showcases, and performances that showcase the talents of students and staff.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback that supports their growth and development.
  • Support the professional development of Drama teachers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality Drama education.
  • Contribute to extracurricular Drama activities and events that promote the school's values and mission.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievements and progress, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialization in Drama or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Drama or Drama Education, preferably with a focus on leadership and management.
  • Proven experience teaching Drama, preferably at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering high-quality Drama education.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Passionate about promoting creativity and excellence in Drama education, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders.
