We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our team at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be part of the Circular Economy and Sustainability Lab, working on the Circular Electrical and Electronics Programme, funded by UKRI.
About the RoleThe Research Assistant will be responsible for identifying and addressing the full-lifecycle systems barriers and enablers for transitioning to a low-carbon Circular Economy for Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE). This will involve developing and evaluating novel circular product-service systems and related business models for EEE, leveraging emerging technologies and new behavioural insights.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on circular economy principles, product-service systems, and business models for EEE
- Develop and evaluate novel circular product-service systems and business models for EEE
- Collaborate with stakeholders from across the EEE value chain to identify and address barriers and enablers for a low-carbon Circular Economy for EEE
- Conduct user research and public engagement to raise awareness and improve consumer access to circular economy solutions
We are seeking a candidate with a relevant PhD/DPhil in Design, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, and sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within the established research programme. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic to learn and work independently and as part of a larger team, and have the curiosity and motivation to address important real-world problems through rigorous and ambitious academic inquiry.
