About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Cantia Search. As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Accounts department, including preparing payroll, treasury management, and statutory returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 3 Accounts assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
  • Oversee treasury management, including payment approvals and bank reconciliations, to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll, summarizing and checking payroll, posting journals, and paying CSA and other deductions.
  • Process weekly timesheets, allocating costs to correct projects, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Create and manage projects within Sage 200, maintaining correct contract values and contract budgets.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for 3 companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process monthly CIS returns and issue subcontractor statements, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and submit National Statistic returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial operations, preferably within an Engineering, Manufacturing, or Construction background.
  • Strong knowledge of financial compliance and regulation, specifically within CIS.
  • Passionate and confident individual with a continuous improvement ethos, driving efficiency and excellence in financial operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong IT and financial systems skills, with experience in using Sage 200 and other financial software.
  • Ability to work in a cost-conscious environment, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to perform assignments independently with supervision and guidance as required.
