Your Role

As a Room Supervisor, you will foster relationships with both parents and children daily.

You will assist in managing daily routines, including naptimes, mealtimes, and engaging activities. Your responsibilities will include fairly distributing tasks within your team and nurturing their professional development. As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure that all safety protocols are consistently followed. In the absence of the Deputy Manager, you will assume their responsibilities. You will serve as a role model in all interactions, whether through your educational activities, your supportive demeanor, or your mentorship of team members. Your Expertise

  • Establishing nurturing relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Effectively integrating new staff and children into your room with well-structured plans
  • Motivating those around you to become creative and empowered learners through stimulating experiences and a vibrant environment
  • Engaging with parents about room activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring they are informed about their child's key person
  • Leading your room by exemplifying attentive and responsible behavior in interactions with children and adherence to policies
  • Supporting the Management Team by clearly communicating their directives to your team and providing feedback on development for evaluations and mentoring
  • Guiding your team to achieve their fullest potential and fostering positive changes within your setting

Your Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of child development from birth to age 5 and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Familiarity with extracurricular activities, including STEM, phonics, Makaton, and yoga
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, with progress towards Level 3
  • Minimum grade 4 or grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Best practices for the key person system, safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration, First Aid, and critical care policies
  • Ability to resolve issues and complaints in accordance with Fennies' policies while consulting with your line manager
