About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Prysmian Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex industrial plant and machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspections
  • Develop and implement modifications to improve plant and machinery reliability
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues to achieve production goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Work a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays
  • Adhere to Health & Safety protocols with absolute priority
  • Lift and handle plant and machinery components using appropriate equipment and techniques

Requirements

  • Time served maintenance apprenticeship within manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a fitter/mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • Welding and Brazing skills
  • Rigging of unbalanced loads
  • Risk assessment and safety awareness, guarding of machinery legislation
  • High pressure steam maintenance
  • MS Office or equivalent
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Minimum of BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering
