About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our Pharmacy Department at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for leading and delivering the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards, developing a comprehensive set of Clinical Pharmacy KPIs, and providing assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the clinical pharmacy service within pharmacy and to the wider trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards through a team approach across the service.
  • Develop a comprehensive set of Clinical Pharmacy KPIs to provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the clinical pharmacy service within pharmacy and to the wider trust.
  • Support the Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacists in the development and implementation of the Trust's Medicines policies, systems, and processes.
  • Lead on clinical service development and providing support to the wider trust initiatives regarding medicines, as well as working with other colleagues such as the MSO, antimicrobial pharmacist, and education lead pharmacist.
  • Act as a senior leader within the pharmacy department, deputising for the Chief/Deputy Chief Pharmacist as required.
  • Provide leadership and supervision and mentoring to Foundation Pharmacists and Band 6/7 Clinical Pharmacists.
  • Act as a line manager and educational supervisor.
  • Undertake research, audits, and development activities in Medicines Optimisation, Prescribing, and Pharmacy practice, to help ensure continual progression of services and ensure that Nationally agreed targets are reached.
