Senior Data Analyst

As a key member of the Business Intelligence Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality analytical reports from the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. Your primary objective will be to support the EPR Reporting Lead in developing and maintaining a comprehensive reporting strategy that meets the Trust's clinical information needs.
You will work closely with clinical teams and the wider Business Intelligence Team to scope, plan, and deliver solutions that provide accurate, concise, and clear information. This will involve analyzing and manipulating complex data sets to produce high-quality EPR management information for clinical staff and senior leaders.
A fundamental requirement of this role is the ability to engage with clinical staff to understand and deliver on their data requirements for delivering quality care.
Main Responsibilities- Develop, prepare, and maintain high-quality analytical reports from the EPR system to support the Trust in performance management, clinical, and operational processes.
- Attend and participate in meetings as part of relevant EPR implementation project workstreams where required.
- Understand and interpret complex ad hoc information requests and respond appropriately to short deadlines.
- Ensure procedures are in place for the efficient and effective provision of information on Statutory Returns for performance and operational management purposes.
- Provide information and data from Trust systems to support Payment by Results reporting.
- Identify and highlight any areas of risk with regard to data quality and accuracy and undertake mitigations as required.
The Business Intelligence Team is responsible for providing information analysis and expertise to support the clinical Divisions within the Trust. We provide operational intelligence, benchmarking activity, and support the Trust's Saving plans. We are part of the Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Directorate within the Corporate Division.
Person Specification- Bachelor Degree or equivalent educational level.
- Ability and experience to present information with a high level of accuracy to a wide range of audiences both verbally and electronically.
- An analytical mindset and ability to explain trends and themes in data.
- Good understanding of the importance of data quality.
- Ability to challenge and manage user expectations.
- The ability to exercise own initiative and work independently to achieve objectives and deadlines.
- Good understanding of patient pathways.
- Intermediate knowledge and highly skilled in the use of MS Excel.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of NHS Data Dictionary including datasets, data standards, and data modelling concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to the development of advanced analytical methodologies.
- Intermediate SQL, Analytics, and IT skills.
