Position Summary:

Sierra 57 Consult Ltd is collaborating with a prominent producer of custom mouldings to recruit a skilled Maintenance Technician to enhance their accomplished team.

This is a daytime position with an early finish on Fridays.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be an integral part of the maintenance team, responsible for executing scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) on designated machinery, documenting issues, and identifying necessary replacement components.


  • Adherence to formal written work instructions is essential to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in returning equipment to operational status promptly.
  • The ideal candidate will possess NVQ certification in electrical installation or 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations, along with substantial experience in manufacturing environments.


Ensure the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems by fulfilling preventive maintenance obligations on production equipment in accordance with company protocols; utilizing diagrams, sketches, operational manuals, manufacturer’s guidelines, and engineering specifications; employing precision measuring and testing tools.


  • Maintain the integrity of the facility while ensuring that all utilities (Water, Electricity, and Air) are regularly inspected and serviced as per company standards.
  • Respond promptly to production disruptions, keeping all relevant personnel informed of machine status at all times.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to assist in the design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures to support production.
  • Fabricate repair components and date stamps using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Optimize maintenance resources by utilizing equipment and supplies judiciously to achieve job objectives.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance insights by addressing inquiries and requests.
  • Ensure timely renewal and execution of annual contracts by all service providers in compliance with company protocols.
  • Enhance technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops and building professional networks.
  • Assist in managing the usage, ordering, and collection of operational supplies.
  • City and Guilds certification in electrical installation.
  • NVQ in Electrical Installation.
  • Proficiency with ProtoTRAK CNC mill controls or equivalent and GE Fanuc series Oi CNC Lathe controls or equivalent is essential.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently under pressure and adapting swiftly to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
