About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ryecroft School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and wellbeing of our students with Autism and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students, promoting their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist teachers in preparing learning materials and participating in learning activities, ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Liaise with parents and staff to ensure the wellbeing of students, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Support students with complex behavior, using de-escalation techniques and proactive strategies to minimize future incidents.
  • Follow school policies and procedures for recording and reporting, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with students with Autism and complex needs, or a willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students, adhering to school policies and procedures.
