About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Criminal Records Officer to join our Parks and Open Spaces Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the care of Coventry's green spaces, monitoring their condition, and identifying opportunities for improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess planning applications that may affect or include green spaces in the city, identifying opportunities to improve the city's biodiversity and amenity facilities.
- Develop and deliver projects to protect and improve the city's green spaces, working with planners, developers, and other colleagues to secure funding or create new features.
- Liaise with local resident groups, respond to enquiries from visitors, utilities, and other users of parks to ensure Coventry's parks and other open spaces continue to be a credit to the city.
- Work with other stakeholders to develop parks and woodlands, including liaising with local resident groups and responding to enquiries from visitors, utilities, and other users of parks.
Requirements
- Reporting to the Assistant Parks & Open spaces Manager, the successful applicant will join a small team responsible for the care of Coventry's green spaces.
- Experience in green space management, with a strong understanding of the importance of biodiversity and amenity facilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including local residents, planners, and developers.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
