We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Pharmacist to lead our dispensary services across multiple locations within the hospital network.

  • Departmental Oversight: You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of dispensaries located at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, and satellite dispensary sites.
  • Training & Development: A key aspect of this role involves leading and developing training programs for pharmacy technicians and other staff members within the dispensary team.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Expertise: You will provide essential clinical pharmacy services to inpatients at Royal Alexandra Hospital, collaborating with medical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Team Collaboration: Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings is crucial to this role, ensuring seamless communication and coordinated care for patients.
  • Quality Improvement Champion: We encourage a culture of continuous improvement. You will be expected to demonstrate leadership by driving quality initiatives and enhancing dispensary processes.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist, coupled with significant postgraduate experience in a hospital setting.
  • Completion or active pursuit of an Independent Prescribing qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering clinical pharmacy services within a hospital environment.
  • Strong mentorship and training skills, enabling you to effectively guide and develop team members.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding hospital environment.
