Position Overview:

As a vital member of the specialized Quality Control team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products consistently meet the exceptional standards set by De Beers Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detect and address any issues related to handling and packaging, providing suggestions for enhancements and reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the Logistics distribution team to guarantee that all shipments are processed within established timelines.
  • Maintain rigorous stock management practices to ensure all items are stored securely and appropriately.
  • Conduct thorough quality control inspections on all shipments not evaluated by our third-party QC teams, ensuring compliance with the technical standards expected by De Beers Jewellery.
  • Perform spot checks and acceptance sampling for all shipments checked externally by authorized QC teams.
  • Manage CoC – invoice verification and updates.
  • Document daily technical details of each product on the relevant technical sheets/SAP, providing feedback to suppliers regarding any inspection discrepancies.
  • Record essential product information on SAP, including weight, number of diamonds, carat, CoC, and assay details.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all recorded details that confirm the quality standards expected on customer purchase diamond certificates.
  • Review all items against the original technical specifications, providing feedback to suppliers when issues arise, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Assist the QC Team Leader and Quality Control Manager in monitoring and minimizing internal and external failure costs.
  • Coordinate with the London and Sheffield Assay offices to ensure compliance with hallmarking requirements for each piece.
  • Conduct metal analysis (XRF) checks on all incoming shipments and generate quarterly reports.
  • Submit samples for hardness testing on a quarterly basis.
  • Work in partnership with the Merchandising team to respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products.
  • Oversee all SynthDetect checks to uphold quality standards, maintain the KPI sheet, and analyze findings.
  • Perform quality assessments on all products returned from franchises, facilitating joint decision-making on whether items should be returned to suppliers or sent to local workshops for repairs.
  • Manage the logging and processing of scrap quarterly, regularly comparing reclamation services and monitoring metal prices to secure the best rates.
  • Carry out cleaning and general office responsibilities.
  • Ensure stock accuracy and assist with bi-annual inventory assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook – intermediate level.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel & SAP systems; knowledge of Oracle is advantageous.
