Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Co-ordinator to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate appointments for outpatient and inpatient radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

Main Responsibilities- Act as a point of contact for queries relating to scheduling of patient appointments and co-ordination of patient treatment pathways.
- Ensure telephone calls and email correspondence are answered within the agreed time and in line with the departmental policy.
- Provide a professional and efficient point of contact for patients.
- Identify individual patient needs and co-ordinate support for patient attendance, including accessibility, patient transport, and interpreter services.
- Support the scheduling of all patients' appointments in line with Trust and National waiting time targets.
- Attend regular meetings with management and clinical teams to review capacity and support action to utilize clinical capacity.
- Assist in investigating any complaints or incidents that arise in relation to scheduled appointments.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for someone with:
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field.
- GCSE English or equivalent.
- GCSE Mathematics or equivalent.
- Experience in customer service.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organisational ability.
- Able to manage own time and prioritize tasks.
- Good telephone manner.
- Basic keyboard skills.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
