London, Greater London, United Kingdom AtkinsRéalis Full time
Job Overview

Location: London/South East.

AtkinsRéalis stands as a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy firm, providing exceptional opportunities for skilled professionals seeking a fulfilling career. We offer more than mere employment; we present a chance to impact the world positively and enhance the environment for future generations.

Our UK Environment Practice comprises a dynamic network of around 600 experts delivering top-tier consultancy and advisory services. We prioritize client outcomes and address the significant challenges they encounter, such as climate change, social inclusion, and rapid urbanization. The significance of our work is profound and influential, shaping client perspectives, facilitating informed decision-making, and enabling project delivery amidst disruption and change. Collaboration among talented individuals is our core strength, and we seek a candidate with hands-on experience in environmental coordination, assessment, and team leadership to spearhead our Environmental Management team in London. Key growth areas in this region encompass the Water sector, supporting various water companies, the Energy sector, and collaborations with multiple Local Authorities.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional aiming to elevate their career within a dynamic and stimulating industry. You will engage collaboratively with a variety of technical specialists across diverse projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and associated deliverables, maintain close client relationships, explore new business avenues, and mentor team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the coordination and execution of environmental tasks undertaken by multidisciplinary teams, including EIA, options assessments, and environmental management.
  • Managing a team of environmental specialists and collaborating with Practice Management to ensure the effective operation of the Environmental Management team in London.
  • Handling program and commercial responsibilities, including budget oversight.
  • Promoting high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development, and achieving optimal environmental results.
  • Confidently addressing client needs; leading bid preparations and identifying new business opportunities for the team; engaging in Continual Professional Development (CPD) in line with professional institute requirements while mentoring and supporting staff development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an environmental or related field.
  • Chartered status with relevant postgraduate experience, preferably in a consultancy setting.
  • Experience with major infrastructure projects.
  • Thorough understanding of the EIA process and environmental technical expertise.
  • Leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams; proficiency in report writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to review others' work to ensure quality.
What We Offer:

AtkinsRéalis acknowledges that many qualified individuals seek to advance their careers without committing to full-time roles. We support flexible working arrangements and are open to discussing how we can accommodate individual needs. We recognize the importance of a diverse and adaptable workforce, where work-life balance is essential. By default, AtkinsRéalis provides flexible working options, eliminating fixed hours, full-time contract requirements, and the necessity to be present in the office at all times.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary regularly benchmarked against other consultancy firms, along with a default of 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell leave. Salary and benefits will align with experience and qualifications.

AtkinsRéalis is committed to the professional and personal development of its employees. Our team members benefit from access to a comprehensive training portfolio and development activities designed to maximize individual talents. We actively support staff in achieving corporate membership in relevant institutions.

Additional Information:

This position may require security clearance, and offers of employment will depend on obtaining the necessary level of clearance. If applicable, this will be discussed during the interview process. The vetting process is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of UK residency for a minimum of five years. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community where everyone can thrive and develop. To promote inclusion from day one, we offer a variety of family-friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and employee networks to support staff from diverse backgrounds. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we welcome applications from all backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.
