About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to students with SEN, ensuring their safety and access to learning. You will work closely with teachers to develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of these students, and provide regular feedback on their progress.

In addition to your work with students, you will also be responsible for maintaining a purposeful and supportive learning environment, contributing to the supervision of students outside of lesson times, and establishing good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

We are looking for someone with a degree-level qualification or equivalent, and experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment. You should have a basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers, as well as some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, ensuring their safety and access to learning
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of students with SEN

  • Maintain a purposeful and supportive learning environment
  • Contribute to the supervision of students outside of lesson times
  • Establish good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Requirements

  • Qualifications to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviors
