About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team at Marston Holdings. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art products and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on electronic components, electro-mechanical devices, RF systems, and embedded microcontroller devices.
  • Translate device design intents into real-world functionalities through smart engineering strategies.
  • Collaborate with the hardware development team on technical specifications of embedded devices and electronic components.
  • Investigate the occurrence of failures and bugs in the operation of our devices and participate in root cause analysis exercises.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Sciences or equivalent.
  • Passionate about creating devices.
  • Experience with developing firmware for microcontroller devices, such as Atmel, Microchip, Silicon Labs, Nordic Semiconductor, Espressif, and ARM-based platforms in bare metal as well as RTOS environments using C/C++.
  • Comprehensive understanding of microcontroller peripherals, including communication standards like SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, etc.
  • Working familiarity with commonly used RTOS like FreeRTOS, mbed OS, TinyOS, Contiki, Zephyr, etc.
  • Familiarity with Computer Networks, Communication Protocols, Network Configuration with Windows and Linux platforms, and Low-power RF Networks such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, etc.
  • Experience with OpenThread and working with such open-source code bases on Linux environments like Ubuntu is desirable.
  • Clear understanding of computer communication networks, IP v4/v6, CoAP, UDP, TCP, and relevant network diagnostics is desirable.
