Marston Holdings is expanding its technology side, and we have an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our office, where we provide innovative solutions for intelligent traffic enforcement and management, as well as smart city solutions that deliver high productivity at low operational cost.

We drive environmental change by leveraging real-time data with cleantech technologies. As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge products and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop state-of-the-art firmware for embedded devices.
  • Conduct necessary research on electronic components, electro-mechanical devices, RF systems, and embedded microcontroller devices.
  • Collaborate with the hardware development team on the technical specifications of embedded devices and electronic components.
  • Investigate the occurrence of failures and bugs in the operation of our devices and participate in root cause analysis exercises to develop and roll out fixes.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Passionate about creating devices.
  • Experience with developing firmware for microcontroller devices, such as Atmel, Microchip, Silicon Labs, Nordic Semiconductor, Espressif, and ARM-based platforms in bare metal as well as RTOS environments using C/C++.
  • A comprehensive understanding of microcontroller peripherals, including communication standards like SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, etc.
  • Working familiarity with commonly used RTOS, such as FreeRTOS, mbed OS, TinyOS, Contiki, Zephyr, etc.
  • You will be familiar with Computer Networks, Communication Protocols, Network Configuration with Windows and Linux platforms, and Low-power RF Networks such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, etc.
  • Desirable experience with OpenThread and working with such open-source code bases on Linux environments like Ubuntu.
