About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our Geriatric Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant input to 10-12 beds in a 24-bedded COTE ward, working closely with junior doctors and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Attend ward rounds to discuss patient management and discharge plans.
  • Lead outpatient clinics, including new and follow-up appointments.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, including junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the 1:18 acute medical on-call rota and provide educational and clinical supervision to junior medical staff.

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration and license to practice.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • CCT or equivalent in Geriatric and General medicine or CESR.
  • Experience in general and geriatric medicine, with a strong track record of leadership and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
