Staff Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Engineer to join our Current Product Development Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing award-winning products for our market-leading brands.
As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading change within existing product portfolios due to warranty, sustainability, supplier, or legislation changes.
- Evaluating and implementing design changes, undertaking necessary prototyping and validation to identify risk areas and provide confidence in changes.
- Providing technical expertise to multiple departments, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and new product development.
- Collaborating with customer service to monitor field issues, analyze product returns, and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Leading by example, using facts and data to make decisions, and identifying patterns in user issues and implementing solutions to root causes.
- Providing constructive feedback to product and engineering teams about potential product enhancements or areas of improvement.
- Supporting the New Product Development process to ensure that lessons learned are shared.
- Being actively engaged with New Product Development and Quality Engineering Specialist to ensure successful handover to production.
- Identifying and evaluating Value Engineering opportunities within their area of responsibility.
- Researching relevant technical developments from various sources, including technical literature, suppliers, standards authorities, and approvals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of experience in a similar industry. They will possess excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, and be able to translate technical concepts and data into easy-to-understand language.
